I do not have the new DA 40mm lens, but can point you to these test
shots I did with the DA 16-45 mm zoom at 45 mm. They compare shots at
1/8th second and F4, with and without shake reduction. I'd say 1/8th
second
By the way welcome to the list. You should probably experiment for
yourself, this will vary from user to user, though I would expect that
using the old 1/focal length formula from 35mm adapted to APS, (multiply
the Focal Length of the lens by 1.5), and subtracting two stops would
give you a go
Humm, safe shutter speed...
I pretty sure that the camera won't cause physical harm to the user at
any shutter speed.

My experience with the K10D suggests that 1/15th hand held with a wildish
lens won't be a problem.
I've had success down to 1/8th with controlled breathing.

I relied on the comments on Stan's page regarding the 28-105 models and
chose the older power zoom model rather than the newer models. Not
that I want a power zoom, but the consensus seemed to favor the power
zoom model's optics and build qualities.
