Don't know about the Nikon but the Canon cannot be compared to the Pentax. The Pentax
FA 50/1.7 is well made lens; the Canon 50/1.8 is plastic all through - even the mount.

Why would the fact that the cameras will be worthless in the secondary
market in five years make any difference as to if you are still using them?

Well, thanks for clarifying, but I'm still not sure I'm following the
logic. Are you saying that the presence of an actual upgrade path is
a bad thing? If so, then this can be applied to any of the Big Four.
It's generally more cost-efficient to upgrade one body than to switch
systems.
If I'm
than switching over completely...
Hope that makes sense!

What I was thinking of was that possible FA*II lenses might be for medium format OR
35mm with the posibility of both being the case. That is; that there w

I am not sure, but if the price is based in the UK, the the actual street
price in the US should be significantly lower. I doubt Pentax would price
the new body above USD1,000. They should know better than us.

The page Matti has found says £999 for the body.
Such a price really scares me...
I don't think I'm going to buy an MZ-S before its price drops a HUGE bit...
