I beg to differ. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, when I received a Kiron
105/2.8 macro lens whose aperture wouldn't close, the first thing I did was
show it to my local dealer. Why? I wanted a leg to stand on if the dealer,
when informed of the defect, replied, "You must have damaged it. It was

Trust is always an issue. I recently sold a Vivitar Series 1 28-90 on ebay
to a guy in Alaska. He got the lens and sent me a message the same day that
it had a slow aperture wide open, and asked what I wanted it to do. I sent
him back a message saying that I had never seen that problem when

I agree with your assessment. If he were up front he would have called you

Maybe there wasn't really anything wrong with this guy's deal. (I did leave
that option open, didn't I? You know, that option you ridiculed with your

But maybe you could get a better deal from him.

I gotta agree with Tom on this one. Skip, the way I read it, lost out to a local buyer

I would, however, now that's it's out here, like to hear Bill's side of the story.
