P.J., this is an interesting image that caught my eye when you posted the
first version, and now, I am looking at both.
I am not quite sure which of the two I like better.
The newer, "circular" version has more of the "caricature" feel to it.
It feels as if it us the (mini-) globe, and the
So I got around to re-rendering the new Circular Waterfall image using
actual fisheye functionality. Here it is:

for those who want to compare without going back to my original post:
I guess this is kind of and enablement post as well as a PESO. Ever
since the destruction of my funky, 60's vintage Sigma* 12mm semi
circular fish eye, which was pretty much a full frame fisheye on APS-C
digital, I've been on the lookout for a good deal on a fisheye lens to
use on my K-3 and

Croton reservoir, isn't it?
It's a beauty, and I like this shot a lot.

All this talk of global warming made me long for winter. Actually I
just decided to try another conversion from raw on one of the more
difficult images I've taken. I used the *ist-D and the Accura 12mm semi
circular fisheye, which makes a full frame fisheye on the APS-C format.

I've decided that Herb, and Boris were right so I've tweaked the image.
It's not quite so blue now. I didn't keep the original same URL as before.
