Yes, there are SMC Pentax filters. They are not available in
all sizes - 49mm, 52mm, 58mm, 67mm, and 77mm only, if I
recall, IAC, just sizes for Pentax lenses. They are
available in UV, Sky, and a few B&W contrast colors, plus pol.

I really don't know if getting a SMC filter will help a whole lot, as SMC
lenses have the coating on all glass-air surfaces, not just the front
element. It will help if he is currently using cheap filters, that are

This issue is equally important for my friend and for me. I suppose the best
solution for him would be to change the system to Pentax, but it's a hard
decision (both psychologically and financially:)) to be made... So getting
an adapter is also a

reflection at the internal laminated surfaces, where the polarizer sheet
is, that multicoating gives no improvement over monocoating! Additionally,

I do not know if multicoated was necessary for PL filters. However, there
was a time I experienced flare problem (FA*24/2 & B+W CIR-PL), and it shows
on the picture. I think the Sun was hitting the front element.
