Sorry Markus, no pictures here since I am on vacation...
The worst has been a few rainstorms with the Super Porgram and LX, visiting
waterfalls with the same gear, and most recently it was a baseball tourney I
helped a friend with. I was shooting with the MZ-S. I just draped a towel

I stopped at Wal-Mart today and bought a couple of those throw away plastic
ponchos (87 cents each). One for the camera kit, one for the fanny pack I often
wear when out walking. Hopefully that will solve that problem.

Wow, quite the adventure! The bare outdoors can be very dangerous when
the weather turns against you. I had a similar experience a while back
when I was hunting in Pennsylvania one winter day. It started snowing
very heavily, and I was about 1-1.5 miles deep, not a real long distance

Has anybody ever made photos under weather conditions like these, under
heavy rain or storm
and how did they protect themselves and the gear?

Well, historically this area is supposed to have the 2nd highest rainfall in
North America. However there has been a drought for the past ten years or so up
in these mountains. Summer before last the farmers were selling their cattle
because they could not water them. That seems to have ended. T
