Ann, I'd definitely go with the original photos. In my opinion posterization is used mostly to save uninteresting and or poorly exposed photographs. In this case you don't have either problem. I also think it works better on color images with subjects that require little detail to start with.

I really enjoyed the images - wry and interesting compositions. Manhattan Cafe is my favorite. WRT to the posterizing - I don't really care for it. In some cases the effect seems to be subtle, but I would expect larger images, especially prints, would display it much more pronounced. If you want
