Fuji has apparently released a new film, called Velvia 100 (not to be
confused with 100F).
According to the press release it has finer grain than 50, at twice the
speed.
Next year Velvia 50 will be gone from the shelves.

My lab guy gave me a sample roll of the new Velvia 100 yesterday. I had
heard it was coming - has anyone tried it or read much about it? I'm
assuming it is like Velvia, but only faster (duh) - but some comments I
found when searching the net indicate it is supposed to be more saturated

And Fujifilm made it clear that it wouldn't be exported offically. From what I
have
read, RVP100 is not exactly identical to RVP on colour rendition. I really
dislike
RVP100F btw.

I've read numerous opinions about the Velvia 100 and Velvia 100F and I've yet
to hear about anyone who would use any of them as a replacement for Velvia 50.

Alan, are you attempting to provide information

point was that Fuji claims Velvia 50/100 have greater
resolving power than does Provia 100F. Do you have
information to the contrary?
I lust for a Provia like film capable of even greater
resolution. T

Hello,
I read that this is film made by Ilford for Fuji. Not remembering if
film is made to Fuji specifications or just rebadged Ilford B&W CN41.

Last month or so Tom posted a link to some data about film & digital

like an additional market, instead of displacing the film one.
The Sensia news are very nice ones, this film tends to be inexpensive

Another question for you -- If you needed the 100 speed, would you:
A) Push Velvia to 100
B) Use Provia F

C) Use Velvia 100.
I can push Velvia with no extra processing cost. Velvia and Provia F are the
same cost for me. Velvia 100 is about $1.60/roll more

Tried it a while ago, and it's OK but not as saturated as the 50. I prefer
