Well, you should have been over on rec.photo.equipment.large-format last week.
Not only was there a long thread on whether a particular lens was good enough,
but whether a particular f-stop was good enough. The guy who started it sure had
high standards (in other words, was an ass).

Hi - I'm Bill and I have made scads of beautiful (and even
well-selling!) images using my lowly 20mm f4.5
I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it!
I have two of them one heavily used and one like new.
From the optical point of view: I never shot Testtargets but i was
always satisfied with the results and at least at k=8 its very sharp
IMO. Flare was never a problem

Anybody want to speak up in favor of this lens from an optical standpoint?
I will!
I have an M20/4 and I like it very much. I'm not the sort of person who
takes lots of photos of brick walls and analyzes them for distortion. I use
cameras and lenses for the fun
I like the M20/4. Mine was inexpensive, and I like its small size, so
it has a built-in cost/convenience/value factor for me.
This weekend I plan to post some evaluation shots of the M20/4 using
the *istD, which won't help film users much because of the crop
factor.

OK, somebody here might have given me a line on an M20/4.0, but if it pans
out I need to know if I really want to buy it.
Looking at Boz's site it is really small and cute, ideal for travel
IF it is a decent performer. Shel has already suggested that the K20/4
is weak at the edges as was its Sup
