You won't gain much by going FA24-90 which is not that fast either. If you
must have zoom, conisder the affordable Tamron SP 28-75/2.8. Or better yet,
get a FA35/2.

A good constant aperture f2.8 28-70 is good for this. I have the Sigma EX
and it's an excellent lens.
