I've attempted to photograph the Elk at Pt Reyes. I wasn't expecting to do so, and therefore didn't have a long enough lens, so I viewed the elk through the finder of my friend's camera. He was using a 400mm, iirc. The elk in that area, while not particularly afraid of human contact, seem to kee

You can do a lot of photography with a 50 and a 135. I doubt you'll find any place to rent you a lens (heck, I'll give you an A35-70/4 to use if you want to stop in Sunnyvale on your way) ... Trying to find a lens "wide enough to shoot a redwood" or "long enough to be handy for wildlife"? W

I know for a fact that K&S don't have any Pentax gear for rent, which is why I didn't consider it worth mentioning them. On Mon, Jul 11, 2005 at 07:34:32PM -0700, Shel Belinkoff wrote: > Not even K&S, John my guess is that they don't, but they should at > least be mentioned. > > Shel > >

Well, there's always the option of doing some close-up photography in the Pygmy Forest near Little River, outside of Mendocino. Also, on the road to the coast near Philo, on Highway 128, if you time your shots right and choose your location well, there are some good possibilities that can be had w
