This is an interesting subject, but it cries out to be perfectly symmetrical. IMHO, once an image is close to perfectly symmetrical, you have to nail it. Otherwise it looks like a miss. You can't make this perfect in that regard, but you can come damn close by rotating it a wee bit counterclock

I've done a third rendering. I went back to the RAW and was able to recover more highlight detail. I then applied the shadow/highlight tool and worked on the curves a bit. I gave it just a touch of highlight burn as well, but not enough to cause that weird tonality that I achieved in my first r

I think you do a decent job on the retouching. I would reduce the saturation a wee bit and push the middle of the RGB curve up a bit to brighten midrange tones without losing contrast. But the real problem here is that her eye is half closed. Is this a crop? I don't like the one-eyed framin

I haven't used the 14/2.8, but the DA 12-24 is quite good and substantially wider. It's the difference between 18 and 21mm fov in 35mm parlance. If you need the speed, the 14/2.8 is probably the way to go. If not, the 12-24 performs very well, particularly at f5.6 on up, and it's decent at
