I thought it was a lateral disc cutter, because of the pivot. Always thought hill dale recorders had the cutting point
mounted directly on the diaphragm

Hi Kurt,
Would you mind posting a photo of your restored Pathe rooster - before and
after if you have them? I just made an offer to the guy who has one in an old
store - $500, based on your rooster's condition and knowing him, he is a real
hoarder, it might not make any difference to him
The first time I viewed this and made my answer, I just saw the top of the
recorder, which Is shaped like the Edison factory recorders, I was viewing it
on a phone, and so now I went back to it, and made the photos bigger, and
observed the other photo of the business end on a regular computer.
How do I post a picture?

Could it be a U-S Phonograph recorder? Their managerial and technical staff
was largely Edison-derived, and Edison sued the company more closely than any
other record company -- might the resemblance of this recorder to Edison
recorders be familial?

I am going in soon to order mine as well. Celebrating the new release, here is
a photo that was taken at the special Merle Sprinzen (Little Wonder) Day from
about 4 years ago. Here she is with some of the MOCAPS gang in their special

Yes, I was thinking U.S. Too! I transcribed a rare brown celluloid prototype
Everlasting record, with a Yellow composit core, it was Jack Tar by Hedges

bass response was exellent.

I did that, but nothing happened.
So I flipped the bird onto the Behind the Scenes page at www.78rpm.com.
Enjoy!
