Sarah, I believe the Airequipt Jr has a cover interlock switch, may be your unit has a defective switch that is "on" for white light all the time. A handy person may find a way to replace the switch, or perhaps even fix the switch. Answering your question, any "in line" switch, like th

Sarah, I have had several contact printers myself and you remember them the way I do Mine had a switch under the latch so that when the top is closed the white light would come on. My reccomendation would be to add a toggle switch to the side of the box and turn on and off the white light with it.
