Ah, thanks. Your comment about the relative paths got me thinking and I found that these came from the playlists created by Mediamonkey which seemed to throw iTunes into a spin. Editing the playlists to show full paths solved the problem. Brilliant, now I can uninstal iTunes :) Many thanks for

Some thoughts: To get performance you probably wants to read the POPm ratings in the scan process and store them in slimserver database or some other datasource, if you read them when browsing tracks I suspect the performance will not be good enough. There is a non implemented feature request
