Thanks! Going into the Device Manager and trying an update on my various
network/NIC drivers worked (there were 3 items, and 1 of them did
require updating).
After performing this, AlienBBC now works.

I've just tried out Lazy Search and it seems really useful.

Oh dear. That is strange - I just found a problem in the plugin menu
that would stop it from starting from there, but shouldn't crash the
server.
Do you have any error messages from the log?
What model players are you using (I haven't tested it on an original
Squeezebox yet)?
