Hi Felix, I'm not too sur what this xilinx chip is about, but I did what you suggested: reprogramming the xilinx chip. And, miracle, the IR-Blaster is now working perfectly fine. (I still have to check with the right IR code for my Onkyo amplifier, but it looks like it is sending IR signals)

A few more details would help: Do you have an internet security program / firewall? What version of Slimserver are you using? What OS are you using (Mac/Linux/Windows XP/Vista)? Making an educated guess, try adding exceptions to your firewall for both slim.exe and socketwrapper.exe. I suspect

First of all, my SB3 doesn't have a connection to the Internet. I realized that last night. It is connected via a hub to my PC, which in turn is connected wirelessly to my router downstairs which inturn is connected to the Internet, so although my PC can get Internet access the player can't. I

It sorts on the title of tracks only so if there are multiple tracks with the same title then you'll see them in whatever order the database feels like - that might be the order they were scanned in, or some internal database order (not sure what MySQL does), but it's almost certainly not

Very odd - you should at least be seeing log entries about the database being lazified (where the plugin rebuilds the indexing) after you've restarted the server. Are you sure you're not seeing those when starting the server with d_plugins? After the uninstallation, reinstallation, clearrescan

oh yes, i should also mention something else. this is rather confusing. at the top of michael's screen, there are two seperate download files. one is musicinfoscr.pm which michael says copy into your plugin file, the other is a zip file which contains a folder with 3 bmp. files and 4 pm. files.
