I guess I just assumed that if the device only reported 16 bit support
then it would be transcoded by one of the rules. I'm probably wrong.

How do I fix the volume output to 100%? I'm using a Raspberry PI2 with
an IQaudio DAC+ to my amp. I know I can increase the volume in
Squeezelite but would like to set the volume to hardware rather than
software and to 100%.
Is there a good resource for settings anywhere? I know this thread is
but rather than going through the whole lot I was hoping for a single
settings advice type reference.

The latest version of SB Player (1.2.6), which I just published,
supports LMS 7.9's ability to stream DSD audio. It can handle both DSF
and DFF formats. It plays DSD by converting to it PCM similar to how
Squeezelite does it.

classic and SB Receiver/Duet, suggesting downsampling is not working.
No problem playing 24/96 flac files on SB Touch however.

Hi both work fine.
I think I arrived at the final URL a slightly different way, mentioned
in the original post.
Right click on the game of your choice on the game slider on the BBC
Player and choose Save Link As. Saves a playlist called
audio_event_stream_065.m3u8 which has the same URL.
