I apologize for the negativity. I've just wanted to know that the server
runs and will always run without any connection with mysb.com.
That was my motivation, too. I'm positive it will.

What's the best format/bitrate you can get out of Tidal just using
mysqueezebox.com to control your player?
FLAC should be possible, though using LMS' proxied streaming could help
with network reliability.
Do you have to install LMS to get lossless FLAC?
AFAIK not yet. Once they switch to
After years of paying the TIDAL premium subscription and having no
problems with other music sources, the chronic streaming interruptions
have beat me down. I canceled my subscription. :(

Thanks for the explanation. I would also consider that metadata, but I
guess that's a matter of semantics and personal taste. ;)
Thank you also for the pointer to the faststart option, researching that
I found that ffmpeg also comes with a tool "qt-faststart" which does
just that, so the files

Thank you, @bpa, seems like that was indeed the solution. I wasn't even
aware it was possible to have the metadata (at least that's my
interpretation of "index to the audio") at the end of the file. Sounds

I just changed my players to "proxy" rather than "direct".

approx. 30mins and had two skips.
The first one was mid song and it jumped to a short Rebecca "your

Not if the index to the audio is at the end
Is it possible to play audio through bluetooth on ubuntu using
squeezelite?
Audio over speakers is working but I get no sound on paired bluetooth
headset.
LMS (latest nightly) on Windows 10 (1803) as a Server (and Raspberry
PiCoreplayer as backup LMS)

Thank you very much for your help!
Unfortunately, I think the linked thread doesn't help me much as it's
mainly concerned with conversion settings. I think, however, that
squeezelite should be able to play both files natively.
Interestingly, the 'faad' binary on the same machine is able to
I have no use for it *today* but it's cool enough a feature that I could
probably think of one ;-)

I have a working prototype version of Squeezelite-X that supports having
up to 5 Additional Players. The use case for this is someone that has
multiple sound cards in one PC supporting a multi-room setup. It works
as follows:

I'm running LMS 7.9.2 on a Linux server and squeezelite on a number of

my m4a files play without problem while others don't.

Main FLAC stream. Song stops followed by a pause and then a Bill
announcement.
Ooh - tricky question. I don't think I'd know where to start! I see a
lot of devices being sold on on eBay, but I'd guess that most end up
connecting again with their new owners. So the total number of hardware
devices probably isn't going down very fast. On the contrary, probably
