Yes, sorry should have said, I tried that and it didn't make any
difference. Even after doing a forced refresh.

Another refugee from BBC iPlayer arriving late to the party but are you
planning to support the ability to add programmes to the playlist?

Ah, I enabled that a while ago during a phase of playing around with

it off.

that's the main station I listen to on Listen Again).
I've yet to find anything on Radio 4 Extra which will play but
everything I've tried on Radio 1/1 Xtra/2/3/4/5 Live/5 Sports Extra/6
Music/Asian Network is fine.
Is Radio 4 Extra encoded differently to all the others? Do I need
ldd --version
(Ubuntu EGLIBC 2.19-0ubuntu6.6) 2.19
And that tested and working on Boom, Classic and Squeezelite.

Yes. In the UK. I've got both Live and On Demand set to AAC > FlashAAC >

selecting AAC > FlashAAC only and see if that helps.

Hmmm ... looking at the log some more there's quite a lot of this too
which may explain it:

up this thread seems to suggest it may be]
For the last few days now I've been having problems with iPlayer on both
my Boom and my Classic both playing Live and pre-recorded content.
Typically this exhibits as failing to play

good self. Excellent, so I don't have to fiddle around with convert.conf
any longer.
Thanks, that's fixed it. Hurrah!

a cryptic URL.
So I'm having to toggle "Use Flash AAC streams" on and off depending on
whether I want to "Listen Live" or "Listen Again".
I've tried re-building squeezeslave from the very latest source but it
doesn't help. Ho hum.

I'm getting this too with some programmes from Alien BBC. For example
"Wake Up to Money" on Five Live which is 64kbps CBR, RTSP sounds like
Pinky and Perky. But then live streamed Radio 4, which is also reported
as 64kbps CBR, RTSP comes out fine!
Tis very odd.
