Still learning here, but came across a minor question/problem. When loading very large (>500 songs), Spotty playlists, only 500 songs are loaded. I changed the "advanced" "performance" "Maximum Playlist Length" to both 0 and 1000, from the default 500. Neither had any impact, although, it allowed

restored server.prefs from Time Machine which didn't help. Deleted preference files, cache, database from the system preference panel and now it's up and running. If only I can remember all my settings, favorites etc...

Spotty installed the update and after the restart of LMS Spotty was gone. Reinstalled Spotty 1.3.0 and now LMS won't start. the log shows: Code: [17-08-11 09:46:06.2826] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.1, 1502265250, Wed Aug 9 20:48:33 PDT 2017)

Spotty v1.3.0 is on its way to you! The only new feature is improved support for Spotify Family (and other multi account situations). In addition to the old way of switching between accounts, you now can configure Spotty to provide quick access to the various accounts' libraries without switching

Thanks for all the great feedback, on a very confusing topic! I guess, I always figured that a 1411kbs stream was better than a 705kbs stream, which was better than a 320kbs stream. I always thought that we were getting a better stream using librespot or libspotify, rather than the standard

Spotify does *not* stream lossless files (for example, TIDAL does have a lossless streaming service). Spotify streams high bitrate lossy OGG files. LMS then converts the OGG file to something that plays on many different squeezebox players (e.g., FLAC). That's not 100% accurate. The spotty

Adding to that I think there is some confusion with 16bit/44Kbps which is the level at which CD operates. AFAIK Spotify Premium streams at 320kbps Max. Spotty converts the OGG stream to PCM or FLAC but it remains lossy as the original Spotify stream is. *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP

Well, that turned out to be easy. Used a different computer from where LMS is running, to not clutter it up with stuff I probably won't use for anything else than compile Spotty... It compiled the first time, without errors on FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p1. Nice! Copied the compiled spotty to:
