I was looking for a place to make comments on how to improve the
squeezeslave integration, but now I'm just left wishing there was a
0.63 already :)
SqueezeSlave + Moose is really nice for streaming music over the
network as squeezeslave uses a much bigger buffer than my previous

I just found Moose here, and i love it :) Thank you! I often use
sqeezeslave on other pc's. The 'Start Squeezeslave' option would be
complete if the ip of the server from the Moose preferences was used
when starting squeezeslave as a commandline option to squeezeslave.

Yes, I should think so.. I'll pop it on the list.. I also want to add
windows sidebar support, which is similar I guess..
Also, you should be able to stop windows

Hey good Doctor ..
'Love the plugin! I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I love
the ability to slide songs up and down the playlist a' la Winamp's
playlist functions. Moving songs up or down one notch at a time as the
Slimserver playlist has you do is mind-numbingly slow and cumbersome.
Doctor:
I'm trying out Moose for the first time, because I'm tired of the 100%
CPU utilization being caused by Softsqueeze. Thus, I'm using
squeezeslave and the new functionality for it in Moose 0.62.
However, I don't run my slimserver on my windows machine. It's on its
own Linux server.
Thanks!
I have WinXP SP2 on the PC on which I installed Moose. I also have
Slimserver 6.5.0 on this PC. I also have an old PC running Clark
Connect (Redhat), and this has been my preferred PC for running
Slimserver, as it sits in the basement out of the way.

I installed Moose 0.62 on my PC today, and tried it for a while. Works
great! I notice that some use this on their Nokia N800. Will it work on
the Nokia 770 as well?

Thanks, that's a good news! No I have all my albums genres!

PS: And I use color chooser, very interesting tool when you don't
remember the name of an album or an artist but just remember the color
of the cover!

I used to sort my CDs by colour - it was like a rainbow with a zebra on
the end for tall the black and white ones - looked kind of cool on the
shelf (700 odd CDs, a few metres wide).
I haven't actually used it in Moose but I think for those of us that
still think in terms of cover art (and
I just upgraded to 0.62. The library scanning went as usual (very fast),
but the scanning of the covers is painfully slow. I stopped and
re-started the server (as suggested for this release) and cleared and
re-scanned my library before connecting using this new version. I also

This is slightly off the subject, but what is the reason for assigning
colors to the cover art?
In the previous post you refer to grabbing the average colour for ALL
the thumbnails.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but after using Moose for a few months,
I still don't see the purpose of this.

The library and cover chooser windows can sort albums by brightness,
hue, saturation, all 'sorts' of stuff.. (prefs-library-colour sort mode)

Well, subsequent rescans/Updates are ok. Updating all Thumbnails in
cache takes a bit longer. I think I'm ok now.
