It "feels" like stream format or transcoding settings are not right -
this may be because of update after a v old version of plugin.
make sure the on demand and live preferences (under
Settings/Plugins/BBCiPlayer/Settings) are DASH > HLS > MP3 > FlashAAC
also make "allow transcoding" is checked

It was temporary - it lasted about 3-5 days back in September. It looks
like a mistake by BBC updating the DAB data.
Current setup is "safe".

My fault.
Was working fine when I chose to play by URL but I made a copy/paste
error when adding it as a favourite.

I've tested 128x128 and it is OK in menu - so I'll do a quick update
using 128x128 (there'll be 2 small bug fixes as well) and hope that no
more changes are imminent.

By giving the 96k etc. you seem to say that programs play

It's likely an illegal instruction error that's only thrown when
decoding is attempted.
I thought we had included the latest osx faad but the build dates don't
match. There are security and long path names fixes in the newer faad.

(eventually) so now on BBC iplayer v1.6.7 which isn't working at all!
Restarted imac to see if that helped, but no, faad crashed:-
