I have my LMS install on a linux PC (mint 18.1) and my kodi install is
on a WIN 7 laptop networked to the Linux PC through Samba. I installed
Xsqueeze on the Windows PC and the configuration went well

It's all simple XML. The file you need is in the addon itself in the
resources sir - XSqueezeNowPlayingWindow.xml IIRC. Main thing to do
would be add a keyboard control to trigger 'ReloadSkin()' in your

I've recently installed this on Kodi V17, but for some reason there are
no play control buttons, nor is the right panel populated. Not at home

Ok, can confirm that it's working fine at home. This is a more powerful
machine than the poor little ReadyNAS Duo v2 at the office. Maybe that

For those with Raspberry Pi devices where this still doesn't work, the
problem might be that support for ALSA sound is not included as default
e.g. RaspBMC 1.0
ALSA sound was not enabled by default in early OS releases on RPi
because it occasionally caused crashes. Things have improved since then

Re CLI, squeezebox json is using the same commands and gets the same
results, just that you get it returned in json format. I don't know any
python but tried looking at your code and it seems you're using the
"playlist" and "songinfo" command. In my php script I used t

I was very excited about this at first, but the use of Squeezeslave
rules it out for me.
Lack of direct stream support needed for Spotify etc. kills it for me.
More and more listening is streamed rather than my local music library,
which is now more of a museum!

SliMP3 was the very first player Slimdevices sold. It was using a
different protocol than more recent players. While it should still be
working, it's definitely not the way to go forward.

Ok screenie in the first post of that thread now - like I said, v.
simple as this page. Hopefully I can tie it in nicely to the very eye
candy rich XBMC experience...that's the plan. Long way to go yet, but

Anything XBMC runs on I think (+ squeezeslave must run on the platform
if you want local playback). The add on is written (like all xbmc
addons) in Python - and at the moment is so embarrassingly simply a
screen shot is pointless. I have tried Win, Linux (Openelex XBMC), and
OSX so far.
