I can give you all the evidence you need in one simple fact--you can install Mac OS X 10.0 or 10.1 on it. There is absolutely no way to install OS X on any machine that doesn't have a PCI bus. You can also look at the logic board. On the bottom side of it is a large surface-mounted chip that says

What is the largest hard drive that I can use in this? I have a 1GB hard drive that uses the IDE to SCSI adapter. I would like to go larger, but not sure how large I can go... Also, what are the specs on what hard drive I need to look for? I know IDE, but anything else I need to look for? --

I have several 540c laptops and a charger for them, I don't use the laptops themselves much anymore, just to make disks for my IIgs. anyways I don't even run batteries in one of them! and I've only actually got one that still works, so I'll sell you my charger for $5 plus actual shipping.
