The Enterasys I use is 16-bit, I think the Proxim is too. The Enterasys drivers specifically support older Powerbooks and OS - according to the driver ReadMe, "PowerBook 2400, 3400 or G3 running System 7.6.1 or later (up to 9.0), PowerBook 1400 or 5300 running System 7.5.3 or later (up to 9.0),
