AFAIK, 5300, 3400 and G3 'Kanga' batteries can all be used in the 3400. I'm not sure if the 1400 had the same form factor, but I'd imagine if it did, you could use it as well in your 3400. I have 3 3400 batteries, all of which hold a charge quite nicely. Should I look for more or is that suffic

I believe the cost of upping the machine to a CD RW is about $200, which is the current going rate for an external CD RW drive of the same speed. So cost isn't an issue, and I prefer to have to carry as little as possible in my laptop bag. (I usually leave my 3400's Zip module and 2 spare batteri
