memory when it's in use. (Reason 2.0, if you're wondering.)
Reason works ok with 64, but I'm wondering if it's worth my time and effort

What you need is some kind of MIDI interface. A MIDI midi interface plugs
into your modem/printer port and will give you MIDI input/output. You will
also need some kind of MIDI sequencing software.
MOTU, MIDIman and (formerly) Opcode mkae MIDI interfaces.

This sounds like someone installed MacOS from a Wallstreet or later G3 disc,
so you have an internal 56k extension on your disk... this also happened
with my 3400 (unfortunately I don't have the OS 7.6 disk that came with it.
Anyone have one they'd be willing to burn for me?)
Go to apple and dow
My 3400 usually gets about 2 hours from a battery... less if I'm using my
56k modem or have the speakers cranked up.

AFAIK, 5300, 3400 and G3 'Kanga' batteries can all be used in the 3400. I'm
not sure if the 1400 had the same form factor, but I'd imagine if it did,
you could use it as well in your 3400.
I have 3 3400 batteries, all of which hold a charge quite nicely. Should I
look for more or is that suffic

I believe the cost of upping the machine to a CD RW is about $200, which is
the current going rate for an external CD RW drive of the same speed. So
cost isn't an issue, and I prefer to have to carry as little as possible in
my laptop bag. (I usually leave my 3400's Zip module and 2 spare batteri
I'd go for the combo drive iBook myself, or, barring that, the DVD model.
You may not use these features NOW... but as people on this list CERTAINLY
know, you can get many years of faithful use out of a Powerbook, and at some
point they may come in handy. You can't beat CD-RWs for fast backups, a
