in my friend's G4/800 iBook? Does
it *need* to be done in OS 9, or will the same process work in OS X as
well? More info/directions/suggestions about this, please.

I can't brag about the shape I'm in - I can't sing, I ain't pretty and

I've heard that the 1400's NiMH batteries contain AA batteries, and
that it's possible to rebuild one using AA rechargeables. True? Can
anyone direct me to info/directions on how to do this?

Hey listers,
Just picked up a PB1400 with NewerTech internal ethernet card, but it
doesn't show up in TCP/IP or AppleTalk CPs. OS 8.x with Apple Enet,
Apple Built-in Ethernet, plus NB, CS and CSII extensions installed.
Special drivers needed to get this working?

mention what the clock is
Yeah, if you have a 'Series I' cache-less 233 MHz 'Mainstreet' you have
a *DOG* as far as OS X is concerned. Of course, Daystar has a G4/466
upgrade for $170 that you might find worthwhile

Can anyone tell me if Global Village GlobalFax 2.6.5 software will work
with a 3400c's internal ethernet/modem expansion card? The info I have
is that the expansion card serves *BOTH* functions; I'd like to have
fax function available in OS 8.6 or 9.1

I'm in a dilemma. I'm planning on purchasing another older PowerBook to
go alongside my two 190s, but I'm torn between the Kanga, 1400 and 2400.
I like the appearance of the Kanga, but price is an issue and I also
need something fairly small, if possible. I'd also like to be able to
upgrade to
Just re-read the post, and have a couple of thoughts that are at least a
tad less facetious than my prior post.
I bought a used 3400c, and am having trouble getting
the internet working on it.
As a way to test my system settings, etc, I took out
the hard drive, temporarily installed it another
Hi, all!
It's time to join the mobile masses! Just scored a PB
1400c/133/2G/64/CD/floppy on ebay, and I really wanna trick this puppy
out. Looking for recommendations on where to find accessories and
upgrades, the cheaper the better since I'm on a fixed income.
Gonna put upgrading to G3 on
I've accumulated several non-functioning batteries for 68K PowerBooks.
One M3053 for PB 100, two M5654 for PB 140-180, two M1906 for PB 5xx,
one or two M7782 and one or two M1499 for Duos. I'm not experienced in
rebuilding batteries, but possibly someone here is...?
