Uhhh, yeah, I came to the same conclusion myself. I had been mad with grief (snif) but have since decided that I can (a) take it in to be looked at (I tried your suggestion but cabling did not seem loose); (b) live with it or (c) think about a used iBook on ebay (tho' I'm loving the expandability

Exactly the same. When I upgraded to my Sonnet, the end of the monitor cable was RIGHT THERE. Take off the grille and unscrew the metal cover underneath and it is visible. The only thing that I can't remember at the moment, was whether the END of it is visible at this stage. But it should be easy

I am guessing that you have a "cs". That line is in the area where the passive matrix scans intersect. I am "hoping" that you have merely knocked the screen cable partially loose and are experiencing partial scans. 12 inches to carpet is not very much, usually. I have dropped my 1400cs worse than

Hi, My 1400 just experienced an, um, 'impact adjustment' when it slid about 12 inches from my couch to the carpeted floor beneath. It was on. I now see a very vivid horizontal line across the middle with a one-inch band of darkened color either side. Is my screen toast? Does anybody know what
