Maybe you should let us know your level of skill in OrCAD Layout becaouse strangely i
am using it to route my Protel files and speed up the job.I have tried 99SE and now
even my supervisor who was educated with Protel since his colledge days abandon it and
go back to Protel 2.8 insteadmy
Tim,wish you well for your new job,for me i was stuck with manual routing and all
those hang outs with Protel, but i am still with OrCAD all this years personally so
contact me if you need any asistance except PSpice.I am with Yahoo! OrCAD group and
there is a multi feature live forum in
Memory and buggishness is what make me loathe Protel,i might not end up confirmed with
my 5 months old job because my superior is just a Protel nationalist and anti OrCAD
even thought it helped me well and fast in finishing my job with its auto route, such
is then mentality of some in my case.
Here we are, many things about Protel's legacy so if i were to have no choice, then i
would get into Linux and download OpenSource pcb software which is already in working
version that is producing finished assembled SMD board by the software author, there is
at least 3 O/source pcb design
You reflex on me very too Raven,i started out as a TV repairman after school, then get
into audio design especially loudspeaker and it is from here that i feel the need to
learn CAD system for able to produce products which will keep me alive, then things got
better of me Cad wise and i landed a
Yes,for the standard package, Capture CIS and Smartroute is not including because of
its lowered price, but the whole package as you mentioned do include everything, from
standard route to Smartroute which i am very happy to use with.Imagine me testing a

Hi Thomas, you are opposite from me,i use OrCAD 9.2 to complete my Protel pcb job and
it is always to my satisfaction, btw for your info there is a company by the name of
E-tool that will to inter-translation pcb job, just search the web or let me know and i
will search my mail archive for the

Tony, thats very much of an insight thought i did tell that not me but 3 of our team
members with new machine of P4 2.4Ghz on WinXP decide to leave 99se for Protel 2.8 and
that included my superior who is fluent with Protel because he was grown up with it
since his colledge days.Btw we all use
Brian, you might be correct with my own pc but we have 4 new Asus equipped pcs when i
joined this company just about 4 months ago and at that time all our pc's were nothing
but Protel 99se WITH Win98 and XPs licensed version so i think there is no problem
with the master boot record but anyway
John,it has been my interpersonal friction between me and my superior because he is
still using Protel 2.7 while i am using OrCAD personally. Now our team is using Protel
2.7(imagine that) because of serious flaws in 99SE.drafting in ancient 2.7 is nice and
stable althought it is not so powerful
I dont know the motherboard specs becouse its a company pc but i will try to keep this
in mind and check it up for all to see.

No, i dont think that its the mouse as my experience with 99SE is from Win98SE fresh
installation and other existing pcs and also with original licensed WinXP,none of them
use tablets but only normal mouse of differing brands,so i am still waiting for some
miracle answer to this mystery.

it seem to me Protel's old and new version do not alleviate anything much other than
cosmetic and workaround change as the main sunject
Hi and this is my first post.me and my colleagues has been using Protel 99SE on
multiple machines based on Win98 and XP but what we found out is that it always crash
