I think what people are failing to understand here is, and if I'm wrong
about this, I'm sorry, is that this isn't just a ProTools issue. This is an
issue with companies in general who use the ILok licensing scheme. I'm not
totally sure how to make that any clearer.

Hi, I understand your point I was mainly saying this as this list deals
with pro tools and I was trying to help out new users. I would buy my
software already licensed on the ilok if possible but do understand
about third party plugins you would not want to send the ilok away for a

uh we totally get it, trust me! I just had a
sighted friend connect via Teamviewer to help me
redeem a license code for a plug-in. At this
point, I'm just glad I have someone who can help.

Now I can post to this list and not feel bad I am the proud owner of ProTools
version 11. I received it as an early Christmas present from my wife and little

what we are neglecting is the manufacturer of ProTools has

I'd definitely! trust Sweetwater to do it for me, however, last time they

I actually considered purchasing a copy of Synthogy's Ivory, but seeing that

Thanks Gordon, I wasn't concerned about security, I was just wondering whether
it was an option, but I think it will be a lot easier just to get a friend to

Well,
If you all would be willing to sign it, I'll go ahead and start a patition.
Hey, Kevin and Slau did it back in the days with Digidesign, and hey! it
worked! Look at how much accessibility we now have in PT!

Please don't do that. Pace is aware of the issue and Avid is involved. There
will be a threshold beyond which it'll be appropriate to create a petition but
now is just not the time. Please be patient. I know it sucks and it's
frustrating but it'll become clearer soon.

I take your word for it. It's just that it's literally been almost a year,
Slau, and we've been writing them left and right, right and left. I could
understand if this were something a bit less crutial, but this is not only
renderring people from getting the plugs they need, but it's
sure, I'll definitely sign. Does anybody have the
text of Kevin's petition or an equally
well-written one to use as a model? The tone of these things is so important.

Slau definitely says not to do anything yet. I dono... Slau's always been
so good with increasing accessibility with these things, I hate just not
trusting him with this. I do trust him, believe me I do, but I must say
that a part of me is very very sceptical.

If slau thinks that it's not a good idea, then I hardly feel qualified to go
against that. I just thought it would help show them that there is a number of
us effected by this. I was not thinking of anything confrontational. But I'd be
at pains to go against slau, who has so much more success
So did I, but whatever. I think it would help, but if he says don't do it,
then I'll trust his judgement for now. Whatever.

We will remember to honor that request when we use ProTools version 11.it is
just hard to wait on things like this. Soon I will join you all I am purchasing
ProTools between now and Christmas and I will need that I lock more than
ever.we are nearby and can help you with yours.

Ricky, I know you're also in Charlotte and could help. Thanks for the
offer. My mom has agreed however to help me out for now. Besides, it
wouldn't just be PT I would need. I already have PT 11 installed. Going
forward though, I'm gonna need help if I ever get any plugs which use ILok.
Hi, Remember that some dealers sell pro tools with the ilok license on
it already so no need to transfer things this is what I did with pro
tools 10 so before you buy from a dealer you might want to see if they
can do the transfer for you if you explain the issues or just buy the
bundle. Nick
The thing is too with that, the last time I tried getting Avid to do this
for me, they told me that if it was ProTools itself that I needed licensed,
they'd do it, no problem, but since it's a license for another product than
their own, they won't touch it.

yeah, you might want to start bugging the other companies who also use iLok.

By all means!
Call the company who makes the software your buying and have them remotely do

OK, and, if the company doesn't have phone support? Or, if they do, then
what if they don't have a way to do remote administration? Back to Avid we
go? Oh, we can't do it because it's not our product? Looks like we're back
to square 1 at talking to Pace. Never mind that they don't seem yet
well, i don't know about others but Slate have

their site to grab TeamTalk for remote. Lots of options.
I'm still waiting to hear back from them about

new so perhaps they are currently swamped.
Chris, which companies are you trying to contact re. their products?
or were you asking a hypothetical question?

Very diplomatically put, Chris. I’m currently having an issue registering PT11,
but when I get this issue sorted, the next issue I’m probably going to have is
authorising the product on my ILOK. We’ll see how that goes when I attempt it.

they're apparently still working on it *sigh*
Luckily for the sighted help, the process is not difficult.
In my case, I recently picked up Eiosis Air EQ and some more things
from Slate Digital. In both cases, you get a license redeem code.
Run the iLok License manager, log in with your iLok
