The difference between the 2 projections you mentioned is that the first,
"Kertau (RSO)/RSO Malaya (m) (EPSG:3168)" uses meters as the units and the
second, "Kertau (RSO)/RSO Malaya (ch) (EPSG:3167)" uses chains. you can
tell from the "(m)" and "(ch)" at the end.The .prj specifies the Units as

Hi all,
I’m a new qGIS user (yesterday). I’m trying to find a good ENVI replacement
and it seems like qGIS is pretty good. One of the nice features is the ability
to quickly map your data on Google Earth without having to create a KML via
GEarth_View. Unfortunately if your data is not proper
Hi Brent,

Hi Andrew,
WKT is a format for geometries and not a file type. Therefore it is not
possible to offer a save as WKT just like that. You can however easily
choose Comma Separated Value as export format and then choose AS_WKT in
the Geometry combobox under layer options.

It is possible to export in WKT format by copying then pasting into a
text editor. However, there is no WKT option when exporting via Layer ->
Save As. Is there a particular reason for this, or is there a
development list where I could request this?

I have the country border and city data from NaturalEarth in separate
layers.

Is there a straightforward way of merging these into a single layer?

I can't find a way to make this use a specific projection. So far the

Hi Michael,
Off the top of my head, but have you looked into a laser scanner mounted
on some sort of aerial platform such as a cherry picker? Not sure
whether the platform would be stable enough.
Alternatively a low level UAV flight may provide a detailed enough DTM

Hi Carlos,
I ran into this problem yesterday in 2.4(i dont remember if i was
working in windows or linux) and I was able to get around it by
suppressing the pop-up window (settings>options>digitizing and check
the box to suppress the pop-up attribute window).
Hope that helps,

Hi there. I'm new to QGIS and I'm looking to mask the base layer I've added
to my composition. In ArcGIS this would be done by clipping one layer to
the extent or shape of another. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
