PS. If you are running a vncserver, you have to stop it first, make
changes to .xsession, restart it and log back in to the GUI.
It seems that the user's .xsession gets loaded at startup of the VNC
Server daemon.

It is, yes, booting even from hibernation too. But you only boot once,
unless you are running Windows and/or you are Dilwyn (!) it's how
responsive it is when it's running that counts.

Looks like the Chinese board builders substituted an off spec part for
the network jacks.
Wonder why they would do that - the specs (apparently) clearly required
a socket with magnetics built in.

700mA mini usb phone charger. The 700 mA
assumes "high power" attachments etc connected to the Pi. You can use a
full sized usb jobby and a usb->mini adaptor. It's all on the web site.
You supply a USB keyboard, USB mouse, Mini-USB power supply and a TV of
HDMI TV/Monitor.
