The Debian has it in and I'm fairly certain I didn't switch it on myself.
However none of the networking stuff fires up if you don't have a network lead
connected

Login as "raspberry" user I think root is disabled.
Also load the latest Image then do an apt-get update on it as it cleans up a
load of stuff.

Use a Phono to SCART lead since SCART has RGB/Composite etc etc etc.
You could use certain QL monitors even ;)
If you have a Wii in the house I think the Scart adaptor will work.
