Go back and re-read Life with Qmail. This is covered extensively in
the section on /var/qmail/supervise/ and symlinking the
subdirectories to /service/, aka "2.8.2.2. The supervise scripts".

I've been fiddeling around to try installing qmail on my machine but
have got stuck with the smtppart. The delivering works fine, but I cant
use the machine as a smtp.
I read the http://lifewithqmail.org/lwq.html#install-ucspi where it says

Hi all...
I've worked out all the little problems I was having with qmail-scanner,
thanks to who helped.
I have one last question...
I'd like to start qmail-scanner safely as per "life with qmail"
"Life with qmail" starts qmail with /var/

Hi All,
I followed the directions to the T in Life with Qmail -
http://www.lifewithqmail.org/lwq.html. At the end of the install,
chapter 2, I re-booted.
After my system booted I type ps and there was only 2 processes
running:
1) bash
2) ps
Then I issued the command "/usr/local/sbin/

Hello everyone,
I am new to qmail, so please forgive my
ignorance. I tried to install qmail using life with qmail under RH7.
When I run /etc/rd.d/init.d/qmail, it seems to start okay. Every 10
seconds something accesses the disk. I think it is multilog. I
probably have a little typo

Dear managers
Sorry, but I'm new in qmail.
I read all intructions and I did all them steps of "LWQ"
but have a problem
when I run "qmail start" It show me :
11084:/sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot malloc
11087:/sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot malloc
11090:/sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot
I've just updated LWQ for use with daemontools 0.61 and svscan.
Let me know if you find any problems.

setuser is a utility from daemontools 0.53. If you're following "Life
with qmail", you should have installed daemontools in Section 2.7:

However, you're apparently trying to u

Try "setuidgid". Some documentation hasn't caught up with
daemontools-0.61.

I'll continue to make changes and add new material, but all of the
originally planned sections have been completed.
