Hey Fred, It was nice talking to you on IRC. The solution to this problem is now posted on the FAQ: http://devel.qmailtoaster.com/faq.html#imapfails It appears that accepting the default hostname of localhost.localdomain is not acceptable to the QmailToaster's imap server. Thanks, Erik On

We have a CentOS 4.2 build running QMAIL Toaster 1.2 with approximately 40 concurrent users and a total of around 100. Dual 3GHz Xeons, 1GB of RAM, RAID5 with 3 147GB Ultra-320 drives. It's a beefy box. We are having intermittent issues with plaintext imapd responding slowly.

The banner responds after anywhere from 30-120 seconds. TERMinating all active imapd sessions causes it to recover.Has it always been this slow or is it due to load? My initial thought has to do with DNS lookup issues. However pasting some of the IMAP log would be useful. Any feedback?This

We recently migrated most of those users from POP3 to IMAP. Before, IMAP was barely used. I have about the same number of users on one of the QmailToaster servers. We used to have most users on POP3, but have migrated most to IMAP-SSL. We noticed no load difference. A
