A couple of years ago I investigated the springs with Quantum (John
Sampson). MIne had the standard springs, which were fine for road use
but soft on the track. The standard springs are 100 lbs front 250
rear, and the uprated 'road/ track' spring are 120 rear 350 front per

Mine does something similar.
I found that if you hold the handle up, then press the button down,
and shut the door, the door is then locked. The key will then open and
lock properly until you open the door.
As soon as the door is opened and shut again, the lock will not turn.

I had a similar problem with mine, but not so bad, it would only lock
from the outside if I leaned against the door.
After some investigation, I found that the locking mechanism was just
worn, the only fix being replacement of the unit.

Mine would lock/unlock when the door was open (you have to push the
latch closed to fool the mechanism that the door is closed), but

The headlining is not easy; it took me 3 goes before I was happy.
