Hi The timing belt tensioner on my 2+2, fitted with a 1.8i DOHC engine has disintegrated. I've therefore looking for a replacement if any one has one, or any help with souring one (suppliers, other cars/engines with same tensioner) I'll try and get a picture and upload it for reference. The brakes were so soft and i was barely getting anything from them. My local garage told me that it was because there had been a brand new one put on but not machined on properly so i had to get a new one. the brakes are starting to feel the same again with the pressure changing randomly, hopefull

Air in the system would tend to get worse and worse rather than change randomly. It could be the servo on the way out, if diaphram has split it can seal sometimes better than others and cause variations in braking pressure. If it is air in the system then i can be getting in due to a fault in

Sorry, I wouldn't know how to test for brake fluid contamination, short of taking a sample to a lab which is likely to be prohibitively expensive. Might be worth inquiring if there has been any recent work to the brakes though. My suggestion would be to completely drain the system, flush through t
