Pippin, thanks for sharing your algorithm. Mine's a straighforward
linear/proportional model based on the N/100 volume level -- when a
player joins a sync group, I note each player's volume. When any volume
changes, I calculate the new / original ratio, calculate new volumes for
sync peers, and ch
What's the algorithm you use for the proportional changes? I found
simple proportional volume change to be a bit problematic for extreme
values so here's what iPeng does:
1. Extend volume range beyond 100 to avoid cliping for loud players. So
interally it will handle volumes >100 for individual pl

You could try my SyncOptions plugin version 2.1.30 or newer from my

adds a new option, "relative volume sync". To u

My radio updated and was a bit concerned at first because I couldn't
seem to turn it off - at least didn't appear to turn off as in the off
state I display the custom clock screen saver. It appears, however,
that after the update my applets needed to be re-installed... since the

I am unable to connect to my home server via IP from the radio.
I have port 9000 (TCP) and 3483 (TCP and UDP) properly forwarded from
my home server, and I can hit the Squeezebox Server web interface via
the IP @ 9000. The Squeezebox radio is getting an IP at the remote
location and can connect
If you are willing to try out beta software, there are fixes for
Squeezebox Radio alarm issues in beta 7.4.2 and 7.5. See this thread for
info:

Of course, it is beta so it may change without notice.

I couldn't get my Radio to connect until I did a factory reset (even

I think that the bottom line here is that if the device is supposed to
support WEP then it needs to. Logitech should be trying to gather data
from him in an attempt to get this working.
Just because it's an old protocol that is easily hacked doesn't mean
that they should only make a 1/2 effort t

Since WEP is beyond useless (false sense of security), I personally
would turn off wireless security and deal with it in other ways.
Even if you are using WEP, you probably should:
* Assume all connections can be snooped
* Turn on access based on "MAC address" (forgeable, but keeps random

Since 7.4.2 is still in beta I'd have to guess that you were running
7.4.2 prior to the update. I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but when
you run the betas you are buying into regular (usually nightly) updates.
If you don't want these updates you should fall back to the stable
official release
So I wake up, turn on my radio, and it's at a screen that says software
update available. No way to not download it, so I download it. Now my
home menu settings are changed, and I can't connect to my local
squeezeboxserver . My SB3 in the same room never lost connection. Radio

Won't be able to do much testing here in the short term, Peter, since my
time is focused on fixing Radio alarm functionality.
This is fabulous stuff, though! Thanks very much for this excellent
enhancement.
Maybe I'll be able to get some testing in next week sometime after my

Yep, there's a heap of issues with alarm reliability and the handling of
the MYSB connection. Unfortunately none of them was fixed in the last
two months and chances are low that they will be fixed soon. Next
software release (7.5) is probably mid/end of January when the Touch is
finally released.
Can you let me know if you get WEP working? I can't connect with a
128bit (13 Hex) WEP code. Every other computer in my house connects just
fine but not my Squeezebox (the older WEP only wireless model). I wonder
if there's a firmware upgrade that lets these older models use WPA?
