AFAIK, modern batteries have no memory effect and deteriorate whether used or not (maybe you can extend their shelf life by keeping them half charged in the refrigerator). I hope/expect that the circuitry will let the battery drop to 90% or so before initiating a recharge (that's how my laptop

I've had a SB radio for a couple of weeks, and it is flakey when I try to synchronize it with the two older SBs (squeezebox3). RIght now it appears synched but plays no audio; other times attempting to synch has disrupted the audio from all the others. Known problem? Anything I should try?

Could be a distinct Sync issue, hard to tell. I'd still try it wired just to eliminate possible WiFi issues. I Sync three players without issue, Radio (WiFi), Boom (WiFi), SB3 (wired) so I know the Radio is capable of it. -- toby10

Just tested playing 30 Jan show - works OK for me. By timeout - do you means no menus or you get menu for programs but it times out after you try to play a program. Have you installed PlayReal plugin and also mplayer ? Can you try playing the URL below using the Tune-in on the WebUI.
