I was wondering about using a battery pack from Maplin:

What you have linked to is a battery holder which is not correct. What
you actually need is 10AA NiMH cells soldered together. It may be
easiest to buy 'tagged'

This is very relieving. I've had minor issues with the SB Radio

I just happened to be passing Reading PC World so I dropped in for a
look. Not a Logitech Radio in sight! They had an Audio section with 4
DAB/Internet Radios but none of them was Logitech. Its not a very good
promo if they don't actually have a live demo...

Is anyone able to measure the Boom? I'm interested to see the real
power usage of the VFD.

mattoleriver,
Maybe you could add a comment to my bug post. If enough people see the
change as an improvement, then logitech will have to do something about
the unnecessarily small text.
The good news is Erland tells me that soon he will have an applet which
will be able to make applying these
You can also get the SB IR remote with the numbers/letters.

ex: pressing #8 brings you immediately to your T's
Also, if you have not tried these:
- the knob does wrap around in the menu's, you can go from A to Z or

Just in case this is a technicality...is there a way to for the radio

I've been using SBS to try to connect to the radio and it's not
working.

Looks like this has been known for over two years. It really should
have been fixed by now. I have a number of Chinese titled albums that
can't display properly on my radio. They display fine on my SB3s, via
iPeng and throught the web interface.
Please vote for this bug:
Thanks for that. It's less then I feared it would be. And the VFD
certainly is gorgeous. It's a pity it's a dead technology. :(

automatically sleep in say 60 mins every time you turn it on, without
having to go the menus to select the sleep option and value? So in

I've tried for a week. The radio claims WEP compatibility, but doesn't

Did you try a direct to Ethernet connection and update firmware first?

Try the PowerSave plugin. I have not tried myself but it sounds like
what you need. You can install through
SqueezeboxServer-Setting-Plugins and is under 3rd party plugin.
