Hi,
well, the bug also exists in the 7.5 releases and nobody seems to care?
Somehow I wonder if it is that complicated to send the WOL a few
minutes before an alarm... this would solve a lot of problems people
are experiencing with the SB radio alarm feature and SBS power-save.
Regards!

I am asking about the Squeezebox Radio.
Before buying, I want to make sure that the clock and alarm will work
even if I have no internet or NAS switched on.
Otherwise I will use another device as alarm.

I've also filed one... Bug 15663. Which one is yours? I'd like to vote
for it as well since this bug really is getting on my nerves.

Everyday a fallback alarm is not nice ;)
Doesnt matter why, its a simple question, I thought..?

It may be relevant to you, because your usage pattern of internet/server
may alter whether the Radio is going to suit your requirements or not.
I think that's what bluegaspode was getting at.
The Radio is designed to be connected at all times to one of a) the
internet and/or b) a local server

Thank you Siduhe and Mnyb for your detailed explanations!
Now I understand more how SB Radio works!
Ill think about it.. maybe an SB Radio or maybe a boom/classic/other
and a separate alarm clock. Ill also look into how the SB3 works in
this regard, since Ive never used the SB3's alarm..

I have found the Boom is best (at the moment) for alarm functionality.
As Mnyb says, there is a problem with some implementations of WOL and
the Radio at the moment, whereas the Boom works well with WOL (if
that's relevant to you). I also find the autodimming feature works
better on the Boom
Try rebooting your Radio (press hold Power button, wait for Goodbye
message), then power back up.
I was also having a Pandora issue (Radio displayed no album art, text
only displayed C101) until I rebooted the Radio, all seems fine now.

Thanks for the suggestion but, no, it's not used this way. I use the
Boom with SBS sometimes, as it gets moved around and has better sound.
The Radio is just in a small back room and is always connected to
MySB.com.

Ken - Have you checked the alarm settings. There is an option to pick
the length of the snooze time in minutes. The shortest option is one
minute. I can't remember what the default setting is, but maybe that is
your problem. Try setting it for your preferred interval and see if it
works.

I don't find this fix to be working reliably - information added to the

Anyone else seen this fix failing?

I suggest opening a new bug report for your problems.
The bug report linked is marked as resolved/fixed so doesn't turn up in
any statistic as beeing open.
Sure some people still get copies when someone comments, but I guess
this is not enough to see more work on this one.

I have a SB Radio which is playing through external speakers on either
side of the bed, but on one side the speaker has to be further away,
and the nearer side also has the sub so it is like it's still in mono.
Is there (could there be) any way to adjust the balance between the

Hopefully Logitech will include the number-key remote with the next

You can buy this as an accessory, I believe. If you go to the Logitech
site, navigate to the wifi music players, and go to the Touch, I
believe there is a place to find accessories or replacement parts
and order the Touch remote. I am pretty certain that remote has the
numeric keys.

No, there is no such option at present. Even though your situation could
use a balance control, you can probably imagine why they didn't add a
balance control to the digital signal processing for a mono radio. In
principle a balance control could be added to a future version of the
firmware, but
