I wanted to update any of the forum readers on how this problem is
working out! Firstly, NOTHING has changed. I have enclosed my latest
correspondence with Logitech Support. Logitech is now blaming RadioTime
for the problem and has yet to resolve our of our problems.

I guess this is one area where erland could easily provide a simple to
install patch through his patch-installer applet.

The Radio doesn't have the capability to do this unless you have
specifically added Squeezebox Server plugins to do this. I suspect your
server is just setup to go to sleep after a period of inactivity.

This soo needs to be a setting somewhere !
The Boom has 10 minutes lead time, I use my boom for alarm btw.
I think I need to do a bug report for it for both boom and Radio,
They are quite different so it has to bee done in a different way for
both products.

So you are right!
I tried one last time tonight and now it works perfectly!
Obviously I forgot to reboot the Radio after my first try when I
changed that line.
Thanks for your support :)
I think I'll post a "how to" in the German Squeezebox forum.

I don't need WOL.
But I know the code of this applet in and out.
So I'm 99.9% sure this is the right place ;)

If I use the sleep function on my sb radio when I go to bed, I can't
connect to the server in the morning.
Sleep seems to shut down my server. The green light on the front of the

That was the first change I made but with no success.
I'll try again tomorrow. It's to late this evening ;)
Does this tweak work on your Radio?

I can't believe that they can get away with leaving the firmware so
broken. The radio cuts out after a few minutes usually. This morning
no alarm went off at all. I think it's time to return it under
warranty.

That's very useful - why don't you post the link to Bug 16170?

Hi all!
Since the latest Radio Firmware r8785 the WOL feature is working!
It wakes up my QNAP TS-509 where SbS is installed 5 minutes before the
alarm is triggered. Fine so far!
But my QNAP needs a wink longer than 5 minutes - let's say 5 1/2
minutes - to finish the boot sequence. Hence the Radi
Hi Erland,
thanks for your advice!
I'll shurly have a try this evening, but first I have to "tweak" the
now working WOL feature in my Radio firmware.
Best regards,

doesn't even bother to send a track name! Which is really annoying when

Totally agree. The alarm popup is one of my main annoyances since
getting the radio. Best option I can suggest so far is to press the
back button to dismiss the menu and then use Erlands excellent custom
clock to override the now playing screen so you can see the time.
Frankly can't believe that
