Well I decided to buy the radio after all of your advice, so far so
good!

Well, that is one of the reasons I (now) have 2 Radios but (still) no
Boom. :) Maggior may appreciate the hint though. :D

heh heh...
Actually, I've never found the need to have a squeezebox under battery
power. So no danger of me buying a Radio for that reason
Just another quick question...
I use BBC iPlayer on my SB Classic and Boom, both of these scroll with
the track info.
Does the same thing happen on the Radio? Do you get scrolling text with
BBC iPlayer?

TerryHawkins
Yes, you get scrolling text just the same on the Radio.

SB Boom,
Well looks like the radio it is then.
I have never used mysqueezebox.com or the alarm, and I have my NAS on
24/7 with Squeezebox Server running on that.

Oh, just one more thing...
What is synchronisation like? I would like to sync with my SB classic
as they'll be quite close together.
Sync between my classic and boom works fine.

It works, but the Radio has a strange habit of randomly going silent
when synced.
Not all of the kinks have not been worked out

Do you mean it goes silent and doesn't come back on?
When I sync at the moment, all my SBs go off for a second or two and
then come back

No, it just randomly goes silent after some minutes or hours of playing
music. All of the other Squeezeboxes that
I like the Radio so much I just bought a second one. :) Syncronisation
works just fine btw (for me at least). I tried it with two Radios, one
SB3 and SP for about 30 min.

Add the battery to the Radio - I've spent several Saturdays lately
working in the yard, with my Radio nearby, on batteries, using MusicIP
to keep the music coming. The Radio is usually next to my bed, but
being able to unplug it and take it anywhere in the house is great.

i have my. Radio mainly for two things listening outdoor on my balcony.
orin my bathroom while having a nice bubblebath :) I have my own server
and don't use it as alarm .
for that I have my boom.

For my usercase it works.

I use my Radio alarm with mysqueezebox.com and it now seems to be very
reliable. A few firmware versions ago, there were issues, but I have
had no trouble for months now. If for some reason the network is having
issues, the back up alarm sound comes on very reliably.

I have a Squeezebox classic and a boom and would like to get another
one.
I've held of buying another Boom in the hope the radio would become
something worth buying, when I first looked there were a number of
problems.
The radio is now just over £100 at Amazon, and wondered whether it was
worth
I have zero stability problems with my Radio, but then I don't use the
alarm or mysqueezebox.com on it.

I bought a SB Radio about a week ago to use in the kitchen, and my wife
liked it so much, we bought another one for her bathroom. I did have
some strange preset button issues with certain radio stations with SBS
7.5.3 (or at least I think I did), but they went away when I rolled back
to 7.5.2.
I own three radios (one of each color) and I love them. However, like a
previous post, I don't use and don't care about the alarms and I rarely
used mysb.com. The only connection problem I've had with them turned
out to be my routers problem after a firmware update.
