Were I in the market for a 56 cm bike, this is a good candidate. To
put the price in perspective, that's the last list price I've seen for
an Atlantis frame & fork only. In 03, I paid more than that for my 58

It rides really well. The third gear is direct drive, second is a 25%
reduction and first gear is a 37.5% reduction. I have the low range
gears set at 39/18. High range is a 42/15. Low range works really well
for hilly terrain and offroad. High range is fantastic for flats.

I have 700x40 Schwalbe Smart Sams on mine with no fenders ( live in
SoCal) and there is plenty of room. I bet you could run a 700x 50
roadish tire with no issues (and no fenders).

I've had the Tioga Surefoot pedals on my quickbeam for about 1250
miles now, and I've noticed that they aren't spiining super - smooth
anymore. The drive side pedal is decent, as it spins relatively nicely

Hey guys - Just built this up with a little Quickbeam twist and thought I
would offer it up for sale here first before posting it elsewhere. The bike
is super nice - rides and shifts great! I built it just to do it. I got a
good deal on the frame and the wheels - the other parts are from my stash

I highly recommend the Schwalbe HS-159 'fatty' tire that Rivendell
sells.I have them on my bike, and I think it would be tough for me
to get excited about trying anything else.They are smooth on the
road, and I can ride them in the woods too.But I really love them
on the pot-holed roads
