I haven't ridden the bullnose bars. I've got drops on a bike, albatross bars on a bike and mostly straight bars (with a bit of rise and a bit of sweep back) on a bike. They all work well for me. I like the variety. The bikes are all set up differently. I have a slight preference for the drops

The problem with a Brommie is twofold: first, the handlebars have a certain amount of rise that is essentially fixed and which may be too high for a smaller child, second, they're pretty pricey.
