My Rivs, at least, complain if I put much more than 15 lb more or less
evenly distributed between L and R; though 20 -- 10 each -- is alright.
Heavy loads do much better in the rear, either in Rollers or in one of the

Gus/Susie pre-orderers: what rims are you planning to use? Are Velocity Atlases

70nm for the bb cups, that is. More like 32nm (with grease) for the crank

John,
Two-part answer. If we are talking about the made-in-Japan or made-in-USA AHHs
that one could see in the used market, the answer is:
No my guess is that you would likely ride a 65 cm AHH if you ride a 62 cm Hunq.
The AHH (Japan or US) has a more “traditional” top tube that slopes up 1.5

Had a once-per-pedal-revolution click that went away for a few days every

I swapped chains, pulled off the cranks, checked the bottom bracket and

It turned out to be a bad pedal. I never did find out what that had to do

Actually, I’ve recently acquired from a list pal a 48 cm Noodle (heat treated)
that’s probably too wide for me, so I could go either for a 46cm instead, a RH
bar, for an Albastache trade.

Sorry, Garth is correct, I looked at the H not the L. BikeInsights lists

them as 'November 2019 update' model. Here is a link:

John not in my opinion. The Hunqa has a 6* upslope. Whereas the original AHH

Length of tube and angles are just a few of the variables that change to make
direct correlations not always likely.

Yikes, Garth, so I was wrong - that’s nearly 52 inches. Yeah, I had to get a
long wheelbase bar for my bike rack. The 47.25 in Cheviot will seem like a

Leah, David is listing the Clem-H, not the -L. Yours is indeed longer .
The current -L wheelbase is as long as the Susie in 59cm, 131.4cm. The 2
are in fact so close the deciding factor for me was the much higher head
tube on the Susie than the -L.
I should add, I used to make a lot of bread with commercial yeast, but now
making bread (and pizza dough) almost exclusively for the past three years
with sourdough starter as the leaven, I've noticed some interesting
benefits over commercial yeast. And yes, some are actually bike related.
Rich, thanks for your response. The paint givens the impression of a bit
more depth and glow. I love the aesthetics of bikes and get pleasure from
glancing over at my bike as I work (this includes my Clem H) that I mainly
use for commuting.

Would anyone be interested in exchanging Nitto drop bars for Nitto
Albastache. I send the Albastache and receive the drops. I could either
sent my whole cockpit (nitto stem, silver shifters, basic brake levers) for
your cockpit (depending) or just swap bars for bars. I'm in VA. Lemme
know.
Very nice Andy. What a find! I've always liked Mercians but never owned
one. Grant referenced Mercian's influence in one of his two recent Blahgs.
I'm curious. How do you like the "stove enamel" finish and how does it
compare to conventional wet paint? Thanks very much for sharing the images.
David, do you know if that’s the 2019 geo? I’m nearly certain my 52 Clem has a
wheelbase of 50 inches...I can re-measure if folks are shocked...

I measured the Medium (53cm) Susie demo frame at RBWHQ as having a 125

The 59 cm Clem is listed by BikeInsights as having a 124 cm wheelbase (and

They list the 52 cm Clem at 116.5 cm (and 650b wheels)
