I live in Northern Ca. and get to visit Riv Headquarters once in awhile. Last time I was able to ride an Appaloosa and I was amazed with the handling of this bike. Its very eye-opening how much we give up thinking that a racer-influenced design is so good. That influence really distorts reality

Keven's is set up the same way, so my guess is there's either some issue with the placement of the cable stops or the routing that precludes the effective use of a brake hanger... or you're just buying the remainders of Keven's mismatched pair. Jeff
