Found this on the Cheviot brochure. I'm not a fender expert, so I'm a bit confused. I've always used spacers for fenders with vertical drilled bridges. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. To unsubscribe from this group and st

I've found that I prefer the chain stay mounting to be a bit forward of perfect alignment to ease removing and replacement of the rear wheel. I use a spacer there, but not long enough to bring the fender to an equidistant position with the seat stay and strut placements. It's not really noticea

Funny, I actually have a VO Constructeur rear rack hanging unused in my garage -- and I thought about it -- but I don't want (or need) a rear rack ... and while, technically that solves the problem, I'm asking why does the problem exist at all? Ok, I get the idea of having the chain stay a hair

It's very unlikely Grant has a good reason why the fender mounting points are superior placed the way they are on your bike. Consider that flaw as part of your bike's personality. If you can't stand it or feel cheated by this flaw, call Rivendell and tell them what it will take to make you happ

It is also interesting that the mounting boss on the seatstay bridge faces the axle. This is ideal for metal fenders, but not for SKS and other plastic fenders. I've mounted SKS in this configuration and they have cracked. Now, I glue a piece of an old fender inside the real fender to make a

For a long time I've preferred to bolt my rear fenders directly to the seatstay bridge, where my frames have this sort of threaded hole. I place a wide, thin washer -- "fender washer"? -- between head of bolt and inside of fender, and I've had no problems, even with a lot of dirt riding with fat fe
