OK, sound of crickets since I posted this suggests either (a) the bike is of no
interest to list members as built, or (b) the price is way too high.
As to the former -- functionally, this bike is like a nearly new, super-fancy
step through Quickbeam. It's not for mountainous areas, true, but si
Tom,
I think most of us would say this is a beautiful build, but it's also
quintessentially Pudge :)
I love the wood rims, but don't need a show bike so those actually scare me
to death!
You should get a little more interest if you separate it out.

Eh, I've had a perfectly normal Appaloosa here for weeks with only one person
showing interest (they didn't buy). Sometimes it just takes time for a Riv to
sell.

I just noticed the rims -- very appealing, though I hear they require
yearly upkeep, like your old station hack.

I know I should part it out for max value, but I just find it hard to break it
up. Why do the wood rims scare you? Bikes had wood rims for many decades.
They ride great, stop fine, and look fantastic. And they're quite sturdy.
Anyway, I hope the invitation to make offers for less than
Beautiful bike. I keep thinking I should buy a Wilbury or some riv step through

I do think it's gonna be hard to sell this way. Super high end, yet unique and

Your diagnosis is doubtless correct -- thanks for the clear-eyed assessment.
I'm certainly not immune to a spot of self-delusion!
Here's an alternative offer to the list: frame/fork/headset/bb + brakes +

half dozen bikes for sale, first three that sell go, and the survivors get kept.
It certainly worked for Bill, but those were some pretty special bikes!

Well let me add a different point of view. I think that the bike is
stunning and the components very inviting and I don't at all think that
$3200 is out of line for the bike. Take a gander into your typical local
bike shop that carries Specialized or Treks and see what their price tags

Happy to pay reasonable license fees, in light of demonstrated efficacy of the

Nice pic!
But the wooden rims actually serve their function well -- in contrast, I
suspect (though I have no personal knowledge) to the carbide lamp!

That's a flat-out steal, Pudge
FWIW my custom was app. 6000 US (frame and components) and while I had RBW
build it with top-notch components and I'm happy with the bike and the
build , it is certainly not as eclectic as your Wilbury. I wonder if
the wooden wheels are giving folks pause,
I was thinking of offering an alternative wheel set. It's a shame, though --
the wooden wheels are plenty sturdy, and they're really gorgeous.
